Regulation 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 (Fundamental Standards) makes it very clear to all providers that they should “assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of the services provided in the carrying on of the regulated activity (including the quality of the experience of service users in receiving those services)” and “seek and act on feedback from relevant persons and other persons on the services provided in the carrying on of the regulated activity, for the purposes of continually evaluating and improving such services”.
‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ providers would be seeking the views of four broad groups namely, people using the service, family and friends of people using the service, professionals involved with the service and finally their own staff. Providers should then collate all this information, analyse, feedback and implement changes with people’s involvement. This is a lengthy and costly procedure and therefore can only be undertaken infrequently and at agreed limited times during any given year.
Trust Care Solutions believes the involvement and views of these four broad groups is essential to the success of the service. Therefore Trust Care Solutions recommends the use of its 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year service to data collection though the use of its Care Surveys Online System.
The Care Surveys Online System is available 24 hours a day and takes the headache out of the analysis. The system will give you feedback all year round and allow you to print reports including graphs for your own service improvement but also for CQC as and when required.
This intelligence is invaluable in your quest to be a leading care provider.
